MMHTT V.2.0 is a multimedia, CYOA project. This is a non-linear, non-coercive, constructivist story form made up entirely of secondhand elements–appropriated google images, overplayed movie monsters, corporate acronyms– that have been aggregated, altered and organized through a blended Boulez-influenced aleatoric and Deleuze-derived improvisational technique. This technique– through chance operations and rhizomatic, creative development through lateral juxtapositions– follows a path from nothing to something, from lack to excess, from meaninglessness to absurdly abundant meaningfulness.
Utilizing dark narrative humor, MMHTT V.2.0’s primary content is situated in the interregnum between life and afterlife– the hierarchically flat transitional phase called death– populated by blessed, undead monsters who act as guides and comrades. The secondary content, found especially in the Author’s Note sections– written by a multiplicity of characters with different profiles and agendas– alternately support, interfere with, undermine, overwrite, and generally complicate the primary content that when combined by the Reader creates new rhythms, resonances, obstacles, readerly pathways and alternative meaningful constructions.
The visitor is encouraged to move through and explore this site in whatever order you see fit. As you encounter, navigate and make meaning of the primary and secondary content, this project becomes a new project.
